Practical AI for physical security — no hype, no shelfware.
I help security leaders and integrators put AI to work in real operations: fewer false alarms, operators who trust the tools, and teams trained to run them.
What changes when it works
AI that earns its place in the operations center
Most AI pilots in physical security die quietly — bought on a demo, abandoned by operators, renewed by nobody. G&F exists to make sure yours survives contact with reality.
Fewer false alarms
Cut the noise that burns out operators and erodes trust. We target the alerts that actually matter and tune systems to your environment — not the vendor's demo room.
Operators who trust the tools
AI adoption fails at the keyboard, not the boardroom. We build workflows operators understand and confidence in the systems they use every shift.
Teams trained to run them
Technology without training is shelfware. Every engagement includes the enablement your team needs to operate, question, and improve AI-assisted systems.

Practice areas
Six ways we help
AI Strategy & Enablement
Where AI belongs in your operation — and where it doesn't. Roadmaps grounded in your workflows, your data, and your team's capacity to execute.
Physical Security Advisory
Independent counsel for security leaders: technology evaluation, operational design, and honest answers about what's ready and what's marketing.
Training & Learning Development
Programs that turn operators into confident users of AI-assisted systems — and turn skepticism into competence.
Content & Course Development
Custom curriculum, field guides, and enablement content built around your technology stack and your procedures.
Technology Adoption & Workflow Design
AI only works if the workflow does. We redesign the human side of the system — roles, procedures, and handoffs — alongside the technology.

AI Readiness & Enablement Assessment
Three to four weeks to answer the question that matters: is your operation ready for AI — and if so, where does it go first? You get a prioritized, executable roadmap and a training plan your team can actually run. Fixed fee. No hype.
The assessment
Five dimensions of readiness
AI fails in security operations for predictable reasons — bad data, broken workflows, unprepared people. We examine all five before recommending a single dollar of spend.
Operational workflow
How work actually gets done today — alert handling, escalation, investigations — and where AI can reduce friction instead of adding it.
Technology & data
Your cameras, VMS, analytics, and the quality of the data feeding them. AI is only as good as what it's trained on — we check honestly.
People & skills
Operator capability, supervisor readiness, and the gap between the tools you own and the skills to run them.
Governance & risk
Policy, privacy, liability, and compliance considerations — the questions that surface after a deployment goes wrong.
Value & sequencing
Which use cases pay for themselves, in what order, and with what success criteria — so leadership funds outcomes, not experiments.
Week by week
How the assessment runs
Discover
Stakeholder interviews, workflow observation, and technology inventory. We learn how your operation actually runs — not how the org chart says it does.
Analyze
Readiness scoring across all five dimensions. Use cases mapped to value, effort, and risk. The honest cases against AI get written down too.
Design
Prioritized roadmap with sequencing, owners, and success criteria. Operator training plan built alongside the technology recommendations.
Deliver
Findings report plus a leadership readout. You leave with a plan your team can execute — with us or without us.

Questions
Assessment FAQ
Start smaller: the $2,500 AI Opportunity Scan
One week, one findings memo, one 60-minute readout. The fastest way to see how we work before committing to the full assessment.
Technology without training is shelfware.
AI adoption fails at the keyboard, not the boardroom. We design training that turns operators into confident users of AI-assisted systems — measured by competence, not attendance.
How we teach
Built for the operations floor
Workflow-first
Every program starts from how your people actually work — the console, the shift, the pressure — and builds AI into those moments, not alongside them.
Role-specific
Operators, supervisors, and leaders need different things. We build separate tracks so nobody sits through someone else's training.
Competence-proven
Assessments that verify people can do the job with the tools — scenario-based, practical, and tied to real performance.

Who it's for
Two audiences, one standard
Security leaders & end users
Get operators who trust the tools and supervisors who can manage AI-assisted workflows. Reduce the gap between what you bought and what your team can run.
Integrators
Differentiate with a team that can deliver AI-enabled projects — not just install cameras. Training becomes part of your service offering, not an afterthought.
Built by someone who's stood where you stand.
Founded in 2024, G&F Total Solutions began as a Houston family business serving multifamily construction projects. G&F Consulting is its technology-focused division, built on a simple observation: AI in physical security often fails because nobody trained the people.
The founder
Joey Friddell
Joey has spent his career at the intersection of physical security technology and the people who run it. As a technical training leader in the physical security industry, he's built programs that teach complex systems to real operators — people working real shifts, under real pressure — and he's seen firsthand what separates technology that gets adopted from technology that gathers dust.
His roots are hands-on: field operations, systems, and the unglamorous work of making technology perform in production environments. That background shapes everything G&F does — a bias toward what works over what's fashionable, and a conviction that the human side of AI adoption matters more than the algorithm.
Today he advises security leaders and integrators on AI enablement: where AI genuinely belongs in security operations, how to prepare teams to run it, and how to measure whether it's working. Vendor-neutral, fixed-fee, and allergic to hype.
What we believe
Operating principles
Operators first
Every recommendation is judged at the keyboard. If the people running the system can't use it, trust it, and explain it, it doesn't ship.
Honesty over revenue
Sometimes the right answer is "don't buy this yet." We say it, in writing, even when it costs us the next engagement.
Vendor-neutral, always
No reseller commissions. No manufacturer loyalties. No sponsored recommendations. Our only incentive is your operation working better.
Training is not optional
Technology without enablement is a liability. Every engagement includes the plan to make your people capable — not just your systems installed.
Fixed fees, clear scope
You know what it costs before we start. No hourly meters running, no change-order surprises, no open-ended retainers with vague deliverables.
Independent by design
G&F Consulting is an independent division of G&F Total Solutions LLC, a Houston-based family business founded in 2024. We speak for our clients — no one else.
